Minutes for May 2023
Board Members Present:- Chris Doran, John Howsden, Adam Robertson
- Pat Toepel, Marty Demartini
The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m.
Approval of the April meeting minutes was deferred to the May meeting because one of the absent Board members had questions.
Financial Report – President Chris Doran presented the financial report because Treasurer Pat Toepel was absent. There is $41,000 in checking, $471,265 in savings, and $269,244 in money market.
Old Business:
- L. Bain Audit- Larry Bain continued work on bringing the district into compliance by July 2023. There are some documents still missing which delayed completion.
- Sign & Paving Update – members reported a sign missing at Quiver & Little John, and on Cheyenne near Copper Cove. The district arranging for purchase and installation.

There were no questions or comments from the public.
New Business:
- Community Service District Association (CSDA) dues – The district had a trial membership in the CSDA for the past 6 months. The Board explained that the CSDA is a value to them and would like to proceed with regular membership. Membership fees will be researched and presented at the next meeting for consideration.
- Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Ad Approval – motion to defer to the next meeting was made and approved.
- Tree Trimming Update – Nate's Tree Service was hired to do 3 days of trimming. The work will be done in May. John would like to plan for a few additional days after he sees how much is accomplished in the first round.
- Striping Approval – Moved and approved to defer to next meeting.
- Board progress, updates & next steps – Board members continue to complete required training through the CSDA. The financial audit is progressing. The partnership with the Copperopolis Fire Protection District continues. A link to Zonehaven is posted on the Rocky Road website which can be used for emergency messaging regarding fire, flood, and evacuation information.
Open Forum #2
A resident mentioned that he had experienced significant additional storm water runoff from neighboring properties that have diverted storm water from their properties downstream onto his lot. It was suggested that he contact the County also.
A handout was shared that listed various entities providing weed whacking services in our area.
